An authentic and progressive

trainer/facilitator for your organization

Experience from the front line

Welcome!

Let me tell you a bit about myself…

I am the founder of We Make the Path Consulting which offers compassionate and progressive training, mentoring and support for businesses and nonprofits who strive to incorporate their beliefs into their practices, walk their talk and make their own path.

I earned my B.S. in psychology in 2004 along with a minor in Inter-Cultural Relations and Economics. While attending school I worked as a case manager and direct care staff for adults with developmental disabilities and autistic teens. The bulk of the work consisted of planning and implementing activities that would provide engagement and a higher standard of living for the adults and teens in my charge. This required ingenuity and an ability to observe the subtle communication of people who are nonverbal.

After graduation I accepted a position in Bend Or. at a youth drug and alcohol recovery program as a case manager. This job entailed managing the education and recovery plans for up to fourteen youth ages seventeen to twenty four. The highlight of this position was the creation of a county meeting for youth workers and case managers to share experience and skill and the development of a mentoring program that allowed youth to seek out training in their chosen passion.

In 2006 I moved from Bend to Portland and began working with Bradley Angle House. There I spent a year establishing a drop in center for African and African American families surviving domestic violence. I created the policies, procedures, support group curriculum and community education classes that the center offered. I also worked within African communities in Portland and surrounding areas to educate immigrants about the effects of domestic and familial violence.

I began working with Sisters of the Road in the summer of 2007; Starting my work as the Operations Manager and quickly moving up to Associate Director. During my time at Sisters I focused on building a strong and sustainable foundation for the organization including working to redevelop many policies and procedures, the creation and implementation of a hate speech policy and antiracism commitment policy. I also worked with the executive director on the creation of an Anti Oppression Steering Committee that functions to provide trainings and insight for the organization as a whole.

Over the past six years I have developed several trainings and lead them for nonprofits, businesses and the community; A few of the trainings I have written, developed and lead include “Being an Ally, Ally Development, Critical Thinking for Allies, Development of Culturally Specific Programs, Creating Case Plans that Work, De-escalation Techniques and Supervision vs. Leading”

I work from the idea that people inherently know what they need and can easily learn how to develop attainable and rewarding goals that move them towards their dream. This is true of individuals, organizations and communities. I am more than happy to develop new and specific trainings and workshops for your organization, assist you in creating structures that allow the work you do to be sustainable and enjoyable for your employees and coach supervisors and managers to lead clearly with compassion.

Thank you for your interest!

Sincerely,

Galadriel Mozee

I’m looking forward

to working together and helping you

create your path

From their facebook page:

"HollabackPDX! is part of a grassroots, world-wide effort to empower individuals to speak out against gender-based street harassment and to hollaback to their harassers. It exists as a space for Portlanders, especially women and LGBTQ folks, to share their experiences in order to raise awareness and start conversations about how we can put an end to street harassment".

Wild Geese

by: Mary Oliver

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
